RIP Chinua Achebe

Novelist, poet, professor, critic and the author of the most widely read book in African literature (Things Fall Apart) professor Chinua Achebe, has passed on. Professor Achebe died last night, March 21, in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He had been ill for a while. He was 82 years old.The legend has gone home. May his soul rest in peace…Amen.
Late last year I picked up and read his amazing homage to Biafra — There was a Country. I read it three times. In fact, I made it a point of duty to tell everyone I knew to read that book. I even gave out a few copies to iROKO colleagues. Truly a sad day.
He lived a full life, 82 is indeed a ripe old age and he made his dent on the universe and of course will forever be remembered. A true legend.
