Mrs Njoku. Reaching for the SKY

So, Mrs Njoku has quietly been busy. It’s not all about social media and red carpets to have a long lasting impact on the world of Nollywood. Sometimes, creating content at budget for the masses is an invaluable task too. Pomp and pageantry aside, I am super excited to share in the joy that the little studio she wanted to start is now taking its wings. On 29th September, ROK Studios (with a little help from Iroko no doubt) are launching a channel on SKY in the UK. SKY is the largest PayTV operator in the Europe and is currently in 10m households alone in the UK. Just to put into context DStv/GOtv has 10.4m subscribers across the whole of Africa. This is really, really a big deal. When she attempted the series Festac Town whilst 5 months pregnant back in 2013, I knew she had stamina. She pushed herself beyond tears to get that done.
