Limitations of liquidity.

Equity can be worth tens of millions of dollars. Or nothing at all. The choice between a linear salaried career path and booming paper wealth is usually a matter of patience.
Most startups die in the heads of their founders. The mere fact that an idea becomes reality outside of your imagination itself is such a rare thing it probably should be celebrated. In an interview, someone once asked me would I want my children to be become entrepreneurs. Honestly, if they wanted to be happy, probably not. I would ask them to try something more linear. 99% of the entrepreneurs out there are unhappy. But then again, most people are generally unfulfilled in their jobs, yet they stay cemented. Why? The regular salary. Linear liquidity. You do a hard month’s work, you get a pre-arranged salary. A true entrepreneur doesn’t have a regular salary. Early on, they cash out irregularly. So until they can build their business, they starve. Or rely on loved ones to feed them.
