I’ve been in Accra for the festive period, chilling out with my wife and son. And reading. I love reading. I try to read at least a book a week. I have read a book a day so far. I have read the startup stories of Groupon, Netflix and Twitter. In all of those stories, the violence within startups is brutally apparent. Nice guys lose. A lot.

Netflix. Founder and CEO Marc Randolph. Fired, ousted and written out of the history of the company
Twitter. Founder, 2nd CEO Evan Williams. Fired and ousted.
Twitter. Original promoter, first CEO Noah Glass and the person who came up with the company name. Fired with little to no shareholdings. Twitter today is worth $36B. Noah is now worth less than a million dollars. Sad.
