Once upon a time I was known as the brashman. I created in Manchester, between 2005–2008, one of the most controversial, yet most loved magazines of that era. What made me remember was someone sent me a Facebook message of the above picture reminding of my most epic failure. Nadeem, our new backend developer at the iROKO London office, who studied at Manchester during that time, was discussing about how much he loved Brash magazines and still had some lurking in a corner at home. Even today, my old friends from university still refer to the ‘brash days’. Those were truly epic times. Creatively I was part of unleashing a wave of student talent. Commercially it was my most expensive failure. Both in time and money. All in we are talking about 3-years of my life and ~£120,000
